Reductions in final energy consumption by 2030 are mostly driven by the buildings sector, particularly in the Climate neutrality scenario

All models that participated in the intercomparison experiment agree that the building sector will be the sector with the higher relative final energy reductions by 2030. This is more evident in the climate neutrality scenario. The reason behind this is the installation of heat pumps in buildings and the increased role of district heating networks in thermal energy provision in buildings.
