In SENTINEL, we found that...

It is possible for Denmark to achieve carbon neutrality in 2045 and reduce CO2 emissions by 70% in 2030.

Using the EnergyPLAN we investigate the transition of the Danish energy system, focusing on a sustainable use of biomass, and a full supply of renewable energy to supply the Danish energy system.

It is possible to achieve zero CO2 emissions from the energy system in 2045 and reduce CO2 emissions to 11.5 Mton a year in 2030, in compliance with the Danish 2030 targets. The study also shows that CCS and bio-sequestration is needed, but only to offset hard to abate activities in agriculture and industry.
