A review of 54 current energy modelling tools allowed for the understanding of the openness of tools, how they are linking to other tools and to what extent they include all energy sectors.
One of the key findings is that not all sectors are yet included in all models. All models include the electricity sector, but it is necessary that the models consider the need for other sectors, as shown in our other studies, where more efficient solutions can be found through sector coupling.
